SHS Staff Feature -Malinda Pitts

Mrs. Pitts graduated from Tullahoma High School in Tennessee and attended the University of Memphis, where she earned her Bachelor of Arts in English and Spanish. She earned her Master of Education in Second Language Acquisition at the University of Arkansas Little Rock, then began her teaching career at Arkansas Baptist High. Mrs. Pitts moved to Illinois and taught at Oswego High for a few years while working on her Educational Specialist degree in Administration, then moved to Memphis and taught at Southwind High for a year before transferring to Arkansas. She taught at Cooper Elementary in Bella Vista for four years, then transferred to Springdale High School in 2013.

Mrs. Pitts teaches Spanish 1, Spanish for heritage/native speakers 1, and AP Spanish Language. She is the Quiz Bowl sponsor and a Scoutmaster for a girls' Scouts BSA troop, and she loves to read, watch TV, and hang out with her family. Her favorite genre is science fiction and one of her favorite books is Ready Player One. Mrs. Pitts has been married for 24 years and has two sons, Tommy and Michael, who both graduated from Springdale High School...#SHShoutOut to Mrs. Pitts!!!
